Processes, approves and makes standard recommendations in response to physician orders using facility systems. Adheres to established regulatory and accreditation standards. Follows makes recommendations on pharmacy best practice standards to optimize patient care and reduce cost.<br />

Qualifications: Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures exceptional performance and results. Ensures that customers have a positive experience; commits to meet or exceed customer expectations. Jointly develops practical implementation plans that consider cultural sensitivities with other accountable parties. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of protocols, programs or deliverables; compares measurement results to standards and takes immediate action to close gaps identified.<br />

Requirements: PharmD or BS in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, an active pharmacist license in the state of practice and/or eligible for license transfer to Texas. Two (2) to four (4) years related pharmacy experience preferred.</span></strong></strong></p>

Pyxis automation in patient care areas and HMS Information System. Pharmacy Hours, Monday – Friday 7A-7P, Weekends 7A-3:30P. The pharmacists rotate call and weekends.  On-Call Pay - $2.00/hr, Weekend Shift Differential - $3.00/hr. Full Benefits Package – (Medical/Dental/VSP/Life/Dep Life/STD/LTD/Flexible Spending Account), 401(k) Retirement Plan,Vacation and paid Sick time.</p>

The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications and serves both internal and external customers including other pharmacy staff, nurses, and physicians. Performs a variety of duties required in pharmacy operations and assists the pharmacists in the accomplishment of their duties. Accomplishes under the supervision of the professional staff, competent, efficient and timely performance of assignments within the structure of the Pharmacy Department. </p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS: <br />
Must have Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy. <br />
Previous experience in job requiring detailed work with some independence as well as shift work is preferred.</p>
<p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: <br />
Graduation from high school/GED required or equivalent experience is required. College or commercial school courses in basic sciences, mathematics, business or other related areas and/or completion of technician training program is beneficial. Two or more years of experience as pharmacy technician (CPhT) or equivalent is preferred. State Pharmacy Technician Certification/License if required by state. Experience in long term care, or hospital pharmacy, IV Certification preferred. </p>
